Special Olympics Pakistan held the National Games 2022 in major cities of Pakistan
including; Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Islamabad/Rawalpindi to identify emerging talent
and set the momentum for the upcoming World Summer Games. The National Games are
the biggest sporting event that the Special Olympics Pakistan offers to its athletes with and
without disabilities.
Athletics Competition, Peshawar:
The National Athletic Competition was held at Qayyum Stadium, Peshawar from 25th-28th
May 2022 where athletes from 6 regions of Pakistan participated in 13 athletic events
including Relay races (50M, 100M, 800M, 1500M, 3000M, 4×100 Relay, 4×400); Long Jump,
Standing Long Jump, Javelin Throw, and Shot put as field events in both male and female
categories. Our unified partner Bloomfield School Peshawar took part in the Relay races to
promote inclusion.
United Football and Cycling Competitions, Lahore:
The football and cycling competitions were held in Lahore from 25th-28th of August at Model
Town Football Academy- MTFA and DHA Lahore. The athletes from different regions of
Pakistan and along with Unified Schools; Beaconhouse College Programme and Qurban
School demonstrated team spirit.
Basketball Competition, Karachi:
The Basketball competitions were held from the 19th-21st August at Habib Public School,
Karachi with 72 athletes and 24 unified partners from 5 different regions of the country where
the athletes exhibited their competitive spirit.
Badminton, Tennis, Table tennis, and Powerlifting Competitions, Islamabad/ Rawalpindi:
The Badminton, Tennis, Table tennis and Powerlifting Competitions were held at Shahbaz
Sharif Sports Complex, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad Tennis Complex from the 18th-20th
September where the athletes showed their passion for the sports.
